Ingredients: What We Use…and Don’t Use

We use the finest natural ingredients.

Shea Butter – obtained from the nuts of the Mangifolia tree in central Africa. A superb emollient, high in fatty acids and other nutrients. The base of our crèmes.

Jojoba Oil – from the jojoba desert plant, the oil creates a protective film over the skin to seal in moisture. The base of our lotions.

Natural Preservatives – amla (Indian Gooseberry), grapefruit seed extract, and ascorbic acid in liposome form.

Nut and Seed Oils – from Kukui nuts, Rose Hip seeds, coconuts, apricot kernels, sweet almonds, sesame seeds, tea tree, lemon and orange.

Herbal Extracts – from cucumber, aloe vera, coneflower, calendula, chamomile, rosebud, orange blossom, algae, kelp, ginkgo and many more.

Essential Oils – volatile liquids extracted from plants and containing the characteristic plant aroma. Essential oils evaporate at room temperature and do not leave an oily residue on the skin.

MSM – Methylsulfonylmethane, rich in biological sulfur ; a collagen builder.

We DON'T use any of these ten ingredients, many of which cause allergic reactions, found in many so-called natural hair and skin care products.

Sodium Laurel Sulfate – a cheap, harsh detergent often made from petroleum.

Parabens – chemicals used to inhibit microbial growth and extend shelf life. May cause skin rashes.

Ethanolamines – ammonia compounds used as emulsifiers. Toxic – can form carcinogenic nitrosamines.

Petrolatum (Petroleum Jelly) – a cheap mineral oil derivative used as an emollient, but leading to dryness and chapping.

Synthetic Colors – like “FD&C Red No. 6” – often carcinogenic.

Synthetic Fragrances – which may have up to 200 chemical ingredients!

Propylene Glycol – usually a synthetic petrochemical mix. Known to cause hives and eczema.

Stearalkonium Chloride – an ammonia compound used in hair conditioners and creams. Toxic.

Diazolidinyl Urea – this preservative, a cause of contact dermatitis, releases formaldehyde.

PVP/VA Copolymer – a toxic petroleum-derived chemical.
