The thyroid gland needs iodine and iodide to function properly. In the early 1900’s, Lugol’s solution was widely used to supplement these nutrients. Two drops provided 5 mg of iodine and 7.5 mg of potassium iodide, the amounts provided in one capsule of Iodine Complex.

These amounts and more were historically found in traditional seacoast diets. Most people today simply do not get enough iodine in the diet. The result is an epidemic of subclinical low thyroid function. This is an important contributing factor in the development of poor immune function, cancer, high blood pressure, heart problems, and other chronic diseases.

The optimal intake of iodine for humans has never been established. The suggested dose of Iodine Complex is one to four capsules daily as recommended by your health care professional. Be aware that iodine enhances the response of your body to thyroid hormones, reducing the need for them.

Unlike other iodine/iodide products, Dr. Ron’s Iodine Complex contains no stearates or other additives of any kind – just iodine and iodide as a potassium salt.
